something about this newsletter made me delightfully proud to be british. we have a tea bar at work where myself and my friends gather if everything is feeling overwhelming and we chat whilst the kettle boils, the tea brews and our drinks cool enough to enjoy. it’s a slow and necessary ritual to slow down and calm :) this was very beautifully written and i felt like i was drinking tea at that bar with you!!

This made me smile so much. 💕 There’s something so comforting about the image of all of you gathering. The waiting for the kettle, the small conversations while the tea brews, letting it cool just enough to drink… it really is its own kind of pause button. I love that tea creates these tiny spaces where people can soften a little and just be together.

And now I kind of wish I could sit at that tea bar with all of you too :) Thank you for reading so thoughtfully and for sharing this with me.

I love this so much. There’s something very sweet to me about a piece of writing continuing into someone’s real life in such a small way. I hope you make yourself a cup when things feel rushed and let it slow the day down a little. Thank you for reading 🤍

Wahhh this moved me so much to read ❤️❤️❤️❤️ love a good cuppa! I never thought about this before but it’s so true! Tea always tastes better when someone else makes it for you ❤️

This is so true. ❤️ Somehow tea made by someone else always carries a little extra care with it. Maybe it’s the feeling of being looked after, even in such a small way. I think that’s part of why sharing tea feels so intimate across so many places and cultures. I’m so happy this resonated with you 🤍

My husband and I created a routine of having hot tea in bed together after the kids are in bed. At first, I didn’t realize the space it created while we had to wait for it to cool down. Sometimes we are perfectly quiet next to each other and other times we burst into a laughing fit because of a stupid meme or reel we share with each other. It’s not a lot of time, but you’ve made me realize that we can’t skip it.

This is so beautiful. ❤️ I think those tiny rituals end up holding so much more than we realize while we’re living them. Waiting for the tea to cool down, the quiet, the silly videos, the laughter after long days… it’s such a gentle way of choosing each other again and again. “It’s not a lot of time” and yet somehow those are the moments that become the fabric of a relationship. I love that you recognized it while you’re still inside of it. Don’t skip it 🤍
